This award comes on the heels of the Priory Hotel being noted by Bike Pittsburgh as a regional "Bike Friendly" Business. The League of American Bicyclists, based in Washington, DC, is a national organization devoted to the promotion of bicycle ridership and safety, and advocacy for the creation of safer bicycling environments. The Priory Hospitality Group was so honored due to its investment into physical structures to promote bicycle riding among staff and hotel guests, including the installation of changing and showering facilities for employees, and the construction of bike shelters and racks on and off the property. The Priory also offers a range of bike repair tools, bike maps, and similar amenities for hotel guests.
"We're exceptionally gratified to receive this bronze award from the League of American Bicyclists," said Priory Hospitality Group Director of Operations John E. Graf. "It's a real testament to the commitment of our staff to implement the things we needed to in order to receive this designation. "
